Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker is a funny and eccentric dating simulator. Download Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker and become the one in charge of your own dating agency helping your clients to find their perfect partners.
Graphics – 3/5
Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker was a mobile game first, and the Xbox version seems to have all the same graphics which can be painful to watch at if you own a particularly big TV. Still, the game is made with a certain amount of visual style that completes the overall silly and eccentric atmosphere. But be wary: almost everything here is either red or pink, and that can sometimes be nauseating.
Gameplay – 4/5
Until recently, dating sims were rare in the western gaming industry, and most of the games came out as visual novels where you develop your character and try to get NPCs to like him. But Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker may be one of the first games that really shift that paradigm – now you don’t date at all, but manage a dating agency that helps NPCs find their preferred pair.
The game generates some clients with certain hobbies and other parameters, and you find a suitable match for them. But that’s not the end – you get to accompany them on their dates, too. These dates are simulated by a bunch of minigames that ask to calculate a tip for the two or pick a waiter for them. And these games are fun, even if somewhat casual.
Each date lasts only a few minutes, so you can really stop to play any time you want. But that also means that in one gaming session you will have to repeat the same minigames again and again, and some players may be bored by this repetitiveness. But all in all, the simplistic gameplay is quite smooth and enjoyable, and you can find some good humor here.
Controls – 5/5
The gameplay like this isn’t exactly demanding for controls quality, but Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker does a good job in making them intuitive and smooth anyway. All the buttons are really huge, so you won’t have to go on a pixel hunt to choose an option or click on a character. The mini-games here are pretty simple, so you probably won’t have any problems with controls here either.
Replay Value – 4/5
While reviewing Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker you risk completely ignoring your job and just starting to joyfully play all the minigames, because the gameplay is so addictive. While the game isn’t meant to entertain you for a long time, it is a great way to waste an hour or two anyway, and you will probably return to it again any time you need to unwind or just have a little laugh.
The Bottom Line
The game is fun to play but a bit repetitive. It probably won’t be challenging enough for hardcore players, but it doesn’t try to, offering simple casual gameplay and a lot of cheeky humor instead.
A nice game to kill a few hours. If you like pink color and tongue-in-cheek humor, you definitely won’t regret downloading Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker.
